Late night workout... WIAW v20

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS WEDNESDAY!!!! Now I could be saying that because I am half way through the week... or I could be saying to because I still have half the week to go. HMMM I think at the moment its the 2nd. Oh well, It is my favorite blog day of the week so I am happy for now.

If you have missed anything this week here is a look at the important ones....
My First Vlog
O.N.E. Coconut water GIVEAWAY

Thank you again to Jenn for hosting the awesome

If you have read my blog this week you would know I am detoxing... I have been food free for 5 days.
Check out my Detox basics for more fun filled links to my detoxing escapades.

So before I get into the food I WANT TO EAT... check out my Late night workout, great for busy days or just a workout on the fly.

Brian and I started with a run around the neighborhood, which then turned into a walk/talk session. We have both been working long hours so it was nice to just talk and enjoy time outside of the house. Oh well... at least we ran some lol

When we got back to the house I busted out the Med Ball and did a little WORK

*I started with Lunges... Arms held above your head the whole way. I do this set from my mailbox to my neighbors... it usually works out to about 20 lunge.
*Next up was lunges arms held straight out the whole way back to my mailbox

* Uneven pushups
*Cross Abs- Start with your arms above your head to one side and bring the opposite knee up to meet the ball

Last exercise is *Power Jumps- arms above head, place ball on the ground, jump back into a plank, do a push up then jump back in and repeat

I felt good after all my sets and was ready for a shower and a cup of tea. Now that I have shared my late night workout with you I will move on to the food portion

As I said I have been detoxing so I have to slowly make my way back into eating "normal" food. That means tons of veggies, fruit and not very much dairy, meat and carbs.

so here is a sneak peak at my menu so far... and to stay true to Jenn's Veggie Challenge I marked all my veggies with a red dot tehe

Tonight I made my Veggie soup which is a favorite in this house... recipe here

If that's not a bowl full of veggies I don't know what is

I also roasted some squash, tomatoes and onions for a few salads
to make this yummy dish
I don't get the barley for a few more days though :o(

Then I have big plans for my

I honestly do not know how or why I haven't shared these recipes (my sourdough bread and spaghetti squash) I promise they are on the way...

And lastly I will be making a HUGE batch of my Zucchini lasagna

So there are my big VEGGIE Plans for this week
What is your favorite veggie to munch on?

Ciao and Lots of veggie LOVE

Happy 100!! Workout Vlog and Giveaway

So I am super excited about today's post... IT IS NUMBER 100 FOR ME!!!! I feel like I have learned so much these past few months and have made some good Blog Friends. I was originally going to do a "look back" at my favorite blogs since I started but I changed my mind. It's my blog party and I can do what I want!!!

Instead I decided to try my hand at my first VLOG... showing you one of my favoriteworkouts in the world to do outside. Oh ya and I may have a AWESOME GIVEAWY from O.N.E. Coconut water for you too... I'm just saying... big things are happening in post 100!  :o)

So here is my VLOG on stadiums... Please excuse the wind... it picked up at the end. It's my first one and I am learning so bare with me a little. I hope you enjoy!

 My Typical Stadium work out
10- sets of stairs alternating between singles and doubles
1 lap around the track
a set of either: push ups, sit ups, dips or sprints
tire flips
repeat...

If you noticed at the end of the video I have a special little treat I like to carry with me after a tough workout. Coconut Water!

The amazing people at O.N.E sent my an amazingly awesome package, and then offered to give one of my lucky readers a Case for themselves!!!

For those of you who have yet to try O.N.E here are some of the reasons you should
  1. Coconut water contains some of the same electrolytes found in blood, and is a good source of Potassium.
  2.   O.N.E is great at preventing dehydration for those long runs or tough workouts, they even call           themselves a "nutritional powerhouse, too (just see its nutrition label!).*"
  3. Unlike your "typical" sports drinks O.N.E does not contain all the sugar or caffeine which is actually a diuretic. O.N.E not only contains Potassium but the sugars are naturally occurring, they do not use corn syrup or artificial sweeteners.

Those are just a few reasons why I love O.N.E. I also love the taste, and all the things they do for the community. If you head over to their FB and "like" O.N.E they will donate $1.00 to Healthy Child Healthy World.
Here is a peek at what I received in the mail... and what you may win!!!!

I received an entire case of Original O.N.E and some of their new Jamba Flavors, Which are awesome for smoothies.

One of my favorite "non-healthy" things to make with O.N.E is a "healthy" cocktail. Yes I am allowed to say non-healthy and healthy in the same sentence tehe

Here is what you need... Some Vodka ( I choose Grey Goose) a carton of flavored O.N.E and splash of OJ. I like to keep it tropical and save on all the sugar all th juices add so my two favorite O.N.E to use are
Healthy Cocktail
mix 2 shots of Vodka 1 shot of OJ and fill the rest with some O.N.E. It is not only DELISH but it is also saving you a ton of sugar and hydrating you while you drink it :o) lol

Brian and I enjoying our O.N.E after Stadium Saturday was over...

Detox Basics... My secrets revealed

I have been posting about Detox a lot lately... that could be because a) I have completely lost it and can't decipher from one day to the next b) I am SUPER excited about my detox c) I am trying to talk myself into getting excited about it d) YOU CHOOSE

Me and the almighty "Lemonade"

Well here are some past blogs I have done on detox.
Preparing for Detox
Last night before Detox
Day 1=Detox Success
Detox Tips

Well today I finally expose my Detox secret Cue the drum roll... ok maybe it is not that serious

I have been doing my Detox program for the past 3 years... twice a year. It has taken me about that long to learn what works best for me. I have learned I can't just jump right into Detox (which is what I always did before) I need to slowly eliminate meals, and I only consume clean foods... no dairy, no proteins (only fish), lots of veggies, fruits and WATER while I work my way off of food.

So tomorrow is my last night of food.. I get to eat breakfast then it is food free for the next 5-7 days (we will see how long I last) I just mixed my "Lemonade" for the detox. Here is my rough extremly precise ya right recipe.

2 1/2 L water
1/2 cup fresh squeezed Lemon Juice
120 mL PURE MAPLE SYRUP (not flavored)
and a Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

-Feel free to alter the juice and syrup according to taste. I tend to like a little more lemon then I do sweetness. Once again it has taken me about 3 years to find what I like.

This should be enough for the day... if it is not MAKE MORE there is no limit. The first 2 days are usually the hardest for me, then it is smooth sailing. I have even gotten to the point where I can cook dinner for Brian while I am Detoxing.

Just remember if you are doing the full detox you are missing out on some essential vitamins, nutrients and so on. So here is a stack of my must haves during Detox
Not Pictured- Multi vitamin
1) Acai
2) Co Q-10
3) Probiotic- I don't want all my friendly bacteria getting washed away. I mix in one of these packets into one serving of my "Lemonade" and I am good to go.
4) Super Dieter's tea- If you want to know why this is important we can talk later :o)

So tomorrow is my last day of solid food, and it is only breakfast. I am a little bummed I choose to Detox during Super Bowl weekend but hey it just makes me stronger.. plus I hate both teams lol

So this leaves me back at a) I have completely lost it and can't decipher from one day to the next b) I am SUPER excited about my detox c) I am trying to talk myself into getting excited about it d) YOU CHOOSE

Honestly, I love my bi-yearly detox. I always feel so much better by the end. More energy, no headaches and lets be honest... I was able to keep from snacking for 5-7 days. With so many people who are obsessed with food now a days its nice to know you can actually survive without your favorite indulgences.

Have you ever detoxed? If yes how did you like it? If not, will you?
